We received exceptionally well-qualified applicants for the editor-in-chief position at Hungarian Cultural Studies, Journal of the American Hungarian Educators Association. Anna Fenyvesi, PhD, Dr. Habil. associate professor of English linguistics and director of the Institute of English and American Studies at the University of Szeged, Hungary, was our top choice and has accepted the position. She is a sociolinguist with an interest in American Hungarian language use, bilingualism, and digital language use. She is a self-taught genealogist and family history researcher. Recognition of Hungarian Cultural Studies by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA)

Three Committees of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) have designated Hungarian Cultural Studies Journal of the American Hungarian Educators Association as an approved venue for publication in their disciplines.

Agreement between American Hungarian Educators Assn (AHEA) and National Széchényi Library (OSZK)

The American Hungarian Educators Association (AHEA) and the National Széchényi Library (OSZK) in Budapest, Hungary, have signed an agreement enabling the content of Hungarian Cultural Studies to be archived, cataloged, and distributed via the OSZK’s Electronic Periodicals Archives (EPA). AHEA welcomes this agreement, which will render the journal more visible and accessible. The archives are available at https://epa.oszk.hu/04900/04976

Extended submission deadline for 2024 issue

Hungarian Cultural Studies—the peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published each summer by the American Hungarian Educators Association—is inviting submissions for our 2025 issue.

Our mission is to publish scholarly, cutting-edge content dedicated to Hungarian studies across the humanities and social science disciplines—including original articles, book reviews, and review articles.

We particularly welcome thematic clusters comprising three or more articles on a unifying theme.

March 1, 2025 is the deadline for our annual, summer issue. if you're planning to submit an article and have not yet been in touch with us about it, though, please submit an abstract (150 words maximum).
